Short description:
The University Center for Journalism Education (CUEJ - University of Strasbourg), together with the Frankreich-Zentrum of the University of Friborg in Brisgau, delivers an integrated master's degree in journalism as part of a Franco-German course. The Masters in Journalism from the University of Strasbourg is one of the 14 courses recognized by professional bodies in France (CPNEJ, National Joint Commission for the Employment of Journalists). At the end of the training, students obtain the Masters in Journalism from the University of Strasbourg and the Masters of Arts at the Frankreich-Zentrum of the University of Friborg. Students stay during the first year of training in Friborg and the second in Strasbourg. In the first year, they learn basic journalistic skills and gain general knowledge of the news media. In the second year, they specialize in a technique (print and multimedia, radio and multimedia, television).

The objective of the training is to train a generation of journalists capable of providing information on current events and the future of Germany, France, Franco-German bilateral relations and the roles of Germany and France in European construction. Students acquire the knowledge and the tools to understand these questions through the news. They also develop an ability to anticipate Franco-German news.

On the CUEJ side, it is intended for candidates admitted to the entrance examination who have a good written and oral command of the German language and who wish to deepen their knowledge of Germany and Franco-German relations.
