The master is located at the crossroads between polymer sciences, micro-, bio- and nanotechnology and plastics and offers binational training between the Faculty of Physics and Engineering of the University of Strasbourg and the Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy of the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg.
The training is divided into three parts: the first two semesters aim to transmit the basics of macromolecular chemistry, macromolecular materials sciences, physics and technology of polymers as well as industrial sciences of polymers. The third semester is devoted to specialization as part of the deepening and research internships leading to the final dissertation, written in the fourth semester.
Students spend the first semester at the University of Strasbourg and the second semester at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg. For the third and fourth semesters, it is possible to choose between the two universities.
The master is intended for students holding a bachelor in chemistry, physics or mechanics. This course (double degree) can be followed by a doctorate with double supervision (joint supervision) between a laboratory at the University of Strasbourg and a laboratory at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg.
